| Summary of Project: |
Sports are one of the few antipodes for crime in the West Coast Area and rugby is the heart beat of Vanrhynsdorp and the whole community support their team. Their B-Team ended as the league champions of 2007 for the Boland Rugby Union President League: North West, while their first team got through to the semi's finals. Two of their younger players were chosen for the Craven Rugby Week in 2007. The rugby club create opportunities for the youth to reach their dreams.
The club's first team are currently first on the competition log and intent of ending as the club champion for 2008. Most of the players are unemployed youngsters and the club has to carry the burden of travelling expenses to matches. It is important to secure regular income to ensure the sustainability of the club; therefore they want to start selling food at their rugby matches. |
