Purpose of the funding:

Funding will be utilized to purchase material and equipment to manufacture wire cars.
Summary of Project:
The vision of Graafwater Jeug en Kultuur Organisasie is to develop a multi-skilled, purpose driven Youth to reach their full potential.    After attending the public participation workshop, organised by WCCF, the project leader of the organisation, did a study of available and existing skills in Graafwater.  

The result was the discovering of the talent of youngsters who create beautiful wire cars made out of waste material. The project leader saw the niche in the market and is busy linking them up the Cape Institute of Arts and Craft.   The plan is to sharpen the existing skills of the youngsters and produce a marketable product.

  These youngsters are school drop outs and unemployed youth in Graafwater. The West Coast is known as a Tourist attractive region and has numerous festivals and arts and craft shops, where the products can be sold. It is important to encourage entrepreneurship amongst the youth to ensure income and better livelihoods.
