Summary of Project:
Elkana Childcare is still a very young organisation in the field of child and youth care and they have to develop themselves towards a full professional organisation and partner in that field. It is only 4 years ago that Elkana Childcare was established as an article 21 organisation for that purpose. Partnerships with the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, through the Dutch Branch, Provincial Department of Social Welfare and other important donors gave them the possibility to grow.

• Formal schooling for street children and drop-in children • Tailor made programs for drop-in children • Care wash, gardening and other programs • Life centre programs for youth between 16 and 23 years • After school assistance and activities for children attending school (not only Elkana children) • Family reunification program • Sport and recreational programs
